It takes a lot of hardware, software, and time to run a site of this magnitude. Although we have previously thought about hosting banner ads to offset the cost and time required to efficiently run the site, we have decided against it. Banner ads are much too intrusive, and pop-up ads are even worse. However, many potentially good Materia Magica related sites have gone down under in the past few years, no doubt due to the same reasons that kill most sites: cost, time, and lack of visitor support. Alyria Online has proved itself to the public that it is a staying site, one that will be constantly updated until the IEN itself retires (hopefully not until many, many years). But for it to remain that way, we will need your help. We are in no way forcing you to make a donation, but every dollar helps us.
