There are 13 classes spanning 4 categories in
Materia Magica. Each class comes with a specific set of proficiencies
and spells you can practice. "Proficiency" is
what determines how good your character is. You may practice skills at
a trainer. The majority of the proficiencies can only be practiced to
75% at a trainer; with the other 25% through actual use. Also listed
here is each class's primary attribute. The primary attribute add +2
to that attribute's maximum (unless your first class is that class, in
that case the bonus is +3). Training the said stat attribute also costs
less if it is your primary.
Spells* means
that this class can use music to create effects similar to magic. Look here for
