Amphitheater : Story by Coritani: Consequences // Browsing(17) Playing(127) Pfiles(90,632) Clans(121) LiveFeed(down)

It was an unfortunate consequence of a recent catastrophic killing in the moat at the proving grounds that I found myself in the port town of tellurium. I was heading down Steadfast towards Scrane to replace some armour when I heard the sound of crowds screaming in the distance. It was the usual sound of a hue and cry, not unfamiliar in Alyria with the amount of crime and disorder that goes on. Imagine my surprise when the crowd came in to sight and the focus of their attention was two of my clan-mates, Mazrim and Darkfrost! Mazrim reached me first and without pausing for breath suggested I join him and Darkfrost in their flight from the crowd. Darkfrost, carrying a bit more weight then Mazrim followed soon after and I decided fairly quickly that it would be best if I joined them.

We ran as fast as we could up Steadfast to the north gate with the crowd close on our tails. All manner of objects were being thrown at us by the citizens of Tellerium as more and more of them joined the mob. Insults of every kind were being shouted. "Kill the beasts!" one elderly shopkeeper yelled. "Castrate the monsters" a piercing scream came from a young mothers mouth. "Burn the unclean!"
"Recall!" screamed Darkfrost
We needed no second invitation.
KABLAM!
In a flash of light the three of us recalled to our clan hall near Pirates Cove. We sat down to gather our breath.
"What was all that about" I exclaimed
"Perhaps you'd better explain Darkfrost" Mazrim stated, attempting to catch his breath.
"Well, I really don't see what the problem is. Mazrim and myself were at Telleri's stables and one of the stable boys came in……and……well, lets just say he wasn't sure that we should be naked in the stables with the horse"
"Not again!!" I said, "Have you learnt nothing from the incident in Vospire?"
"Its not really our fault" Mazrim piped in since the incident with the friendly Dragon, no females will come near us! Any we attempt to talk to just point at us and make animal noises."
"There are places you can go." I reminded them both "Have you tried the Streetwalkers in Rune or the brothels in Tellerium or Templeton?"
"Pay for it!?" Darkfrost sounded outraged! "Do we look that desperate?"
I raised an eyebrow as I pointed out that getting caught on 2 different continents with members of the animal kingdom intimated to me that they were indeed desperate.

"Besides, we have no money. We spent all of it paying off the guards in the Prison in New Rigel" Mazrim rejoined the conversation
"What happened in New Rigel!!" I tried to sound shocked but was fairly sure I knew what was coming.
"You don't need to know Cori." Mazrim stated "Suffice to say we don't think we'll be visiting the town for a while."
Darkfrost winked at Mazrim and said "Not till the furs settled anyway…"

I made sure my back was to the wall as I offered to loan them some gold so they could keep a low profile and buy the female company their personalities couldn't win them. Both were grateful for the offer and, as usual, accepted without hesitation. My conscience was beginning to trouble me somewhat as I had to decide whether to inform the authorities where they might capture these two nefarious characters or stay loyal and allow them to carry on with their animal worrying antics.

I bade both my clanmates farewell and headed to Pirates Cove where I had Heard of a mysterious beast causing trouble under the bay.I prayed to the Powers that I reach the beast before Mazrim or Darkfrost!

I trust any reading this tale will not make animal noises or point and laugh If they see either Darkfrost or Mazrim around the world of Alyria and that any adventuress' will overlook their previous indiscretions and look upon them favourably should they strike up a conversation with them.
