Darkmagic (matt[@]aodojo[dot]com) - Tuesday, 07/21/09 3:57 PM PST
We've added a new [Top 10] list to the Auctions.AO site, where you can view who is rocking in the income for this month or over the course of us tracking the auctions. If you're not on the list and want to see your rank, try asking Lexicon in game by typing tell lexicon aucsearch [your name].
Changes to the Message Board
Darkmagic (matt[@]aodojo[dot]com) - Sunday, 07/19/09 4:10 PM PST
After hearing some issues people were having with our message board, I have decided to remove the CAPTCHA (visual confirmation) and the administrator approval of new accounts. Instead, new accounts must be a current MM Character Name (usually level > 2).
If you have any difficulties, just pop me an email!
We Are Moving!
Darkmagic (matt[@]aodojo[dot]com) - Saturday, 07/18/09 2:51 PM PST
Aodojo has been kind of slow and unstable the last few months, so we have decided to bail on our current host and move to a much better one. That move is happening today.
Due to the way we set up the site and the move, you will slowly migrate over to the new server over the next 48 hours. This may happen in steps for some people: every subdomain of the site can move over at a different time (depending on your last visit), so you may be looking at the old server for the auction data, but are on the new server at www.aodojo.com and the mb.
In the mean time, if you are accessing the old server, the auction data is no longer current and the message board is offline. Once you migrate over to the new server, both will be online again.
Thanks for your support and understanding!
Help Filing
Primus (steven_koil[@]hotmail[dot]com) - Saturday, 06/27/09 7:35 PM PST
After a long and painstaking review of the reviewed Materia Magica help files, eighteen cases of the finest (read: cheapest) beer, and a bare-knuckle brawl in southern PA, I've finally finished an article on the recent addition to the HELP files in-game.
Man I suck at HTML.
It's an enlightening and informative look at the new sections and a step-by-step analysis of abbreviations (SCC, PCC, etc.) and tricky language, hopefully making the sacred texts a little easier to leaf through and understand at your leisure. So take a look, I personally guarantee it's fantastic and you'll feel a million times better after you do.

Grimbold's Annex
Primus (steven_koil[@]hotmail[dot]com) - Friday, 06/05/09 1:05 AM PST
Grimbold's Annex was once the much-vaunted archives of the infamous necromancer, containing volumes upon volumes of arcane lore, tattered binders of the most vile black magicks, and the entire back issue of the Focault Magical Equipment Company's monthly magazine -- but due to some questionable housekeeping and a rather nasty infestation of hypermutated bookworms, all that remains are dark hallways, aggressive silverfish, and the ever present danger of CPK.
Visible as a grey O right next to the Tower of Art, the Annex is inaccessible via the conventional world map - you'll have to find and defeat the impressively large bronze titan located in the underground mines, who along with being resistant to several types of weapons and spells, has some very interesting examples of sparkling new scripting to beat you around with. Energy damage and fire seem to work best, and though the titan himself isn't particularly strong offensively, it'd be wise to bring a friend along to the encounter.
Once the titan has been demolished, and some minor structural changes wrought upon the Tower (watch out for the quake!), you'll find a new path open on the first floor which leads down the mountain and to the world map - right next to the Annex.
The path - and by association the area - are restricted to the Archon class, and there are some examples of interesting room descriptions (offset by some shoddy mobiles). The dedicated explorers and serial nuisances who love to PUSH and PULL things will be kept occupied for quite some time, but aside from the fairly obvious, there isn't all that much to see. I keep getting the niggling feeling there's something I'm missing, though... what COULD be in that boiler room?
Armor Change and Associated Number Crunching
Dragonburner () - Monday, 06/01/09 10:10 PM PST
In order for people to put some perspective on the armor change, I have collected the standard armor values for each armored equipment slot at level 241 and compiled them on the forum. It is noteworthy that with just base armor and an aura an archon had already almost obtained the maximum achievable armor rating under the old system. It is definitely understandable why every high level player being able to hit the cap almost by default was considered worthy of a change.
A detailed look at the numbers and analysis can be viewed on the AOdojo forums.
Do you have a way with words?
Darkmagic (matt[@]aodojo[dot]com) - Monday, 06/01/09 4:45 PM PST
Are you interested in writing for Alyria Online's front page? I'm looking to hire a few junior writers to produce original content to keep players informed on the happenings around Alyria. This is a paid position, so when applying please include current writings (preferably an existing blog).
Interested parties should contact me at the above address with any questions or applications.
Thanks,
DM
